MG is voice of Indian Muslims. Much needed in this era where Muslims are voiceless, leaderless, marginalized and helpless.

"'Intolerance' inadequate to describe fear among minorities: Arundhati Roy". She has a point. Targeted attacks should not be called "intolerance". Intolerance is a reaction, while these attacks are clearly deliberate.

Aamir Khan's recent statement on India being intolerant brought loads of hue and cry especially among the saffron circles of the country. The fact is he was simply sharing her wife's views on the recent intolerance being showcased by people of certain section of our society who seems to be against the minority especially Muslims and Dalits. Some fanatics even abused him with words like traitor or anti India and questioned his patriotism. Interestingly, Aamir Khan comes from the clan of Dr. Abul Kalam Azad who was a known leader of INC, which played its part in the Indian freedom struggle. Surprisingly those who blamed him have no contribution in making India free from the clutches of Colonial rule. So, questioning about Aamir's love for the country or his loyalty for the nation is absurd and act of stupidity. On the other hand, Snapdeal was both rude and cunning enough to disassociate itself from Aamir on this controversy to shake its abs. With incidences like Dadri killing, Hindu-Muslim tensions in many parts of the country, the so called moral policing by the saffron brigade, the killing of Dalits and the upper and lower class confrontation in the recent past simply proves the point of Aamir Khan. In fact, the harsh reactions from the saffron brigade be it Raj Thakre or any MP of BJP asking Aamir to leave the country to reduce the population of the country has again proved the fact that how intolerant are we when it comes to questioning about this harsh reality, which India unfortunately is creating its brand in the international community. The Prime Minister has least to say about these intolerant incidences as he is too busy in his flight mode to certain international destinations.

While all in India are speaking of intolerance, there is no mention of the source of the phenomenon. No one squarely identifies the right wing elements in different religions whose poisonous ideologies give rise to intolerance. The Sangh Parivar in particular needs to be damned, as the intolerance we see is not general but is clearly directed against those who somehow offend the hyper-sensitive Hindu Right -- which is of course always ready to manufacture offence where there is none.

In the teeth of the debate over the rising intolerance in the country the home minister Rajnath Singh expressed his discomfort with the concept of secularism in the country. He termed the secularism as the most misused word. However notwithstanding its use or misuse the fact remains that it is the secularism which defines the values like upholding the fundamental rights, equality, the absence of discriminations, and above all the freedom to practise one's faith and compliance with the secular values enshrined in the constitution which can help in satisfying the greater good of the people. The frontal assault of the communal terror can only be held in check with the liberal values occupying the social space. The fault lies with the people misusing the secularism and not the concept in itself. Progressing his argument further Rajnath Singh said that the words 'socialist' and 'secular' were incorporated in the preamble through the 42nd amendment. He expressing no objection over these words said that Ambedkar had never thought the necessity to incorporate them in the constitution as these two words were part of the constitution. He added that it is inbuilt in the Indian system. Rajnath Singh's raising concern over secularism is not understood when he is asserting his faith in secularism. Rajnath Singh's praise of secularism laced with the objection over the inclusion of the word secular in the constitution does not explain whether he is the protagonist or the antagonist of secularism. Instead his crass revulsion against the secular liberal values is quite influenced by the RSS background. Sing can never reconcile with the liberal values to occupy the social space as they would come in the way of the realization of the hidden agenda. Another votary of the hidden agenda is ArunJaitley who looks to be quite concerned with the denial of the rights of Muslim women who has never given the serious ear to the Muslim women and children suffering the worst in the communal violence. For Jaitley's party only communal violence in the country is the anti Sikhriots which are the matter of great heart burn. The people like Rajnath Singh and Jaitley would air their appreciation of Dr. Ambedkar for giving the constitution oriented to promote the essence of democracy laced with the freedom of belief and thought. However not withstaing their appreciation of the liberal values the fact remains that there is something else up their sleeves and menu. The loud talk of the culture of tolerance by the present political dispensation looks to be hypo critic as nothing is being done to restrain the embers of hatred against the minorities particularly Muslims. Modi's government's lacklustre record in curbing the onslaught of the intemperate utterances is all the more evident. The situation has come to a stage that some of the governors caring a boot for the sanctity of the august office feel no compunction in indulging in the communal fulminations and there is nothing to stop the dismal scenario. In the prevailing politics of polarisation how can the Hindu Mahasbha be left behind. The Hindu Mahasabha general secretar5y M. K. Sharma jumped into the fray. He said that the word secularism is introduced in the constitution for vote bank politics and the politics of appeasement. Mr. Sharma should be aware as to who is playing the communal politics for sustaining the political survival and expansion. It was BJP which tried to play the communal card every inch to reap the electoral harvest but it miserably failed and the worst ever electoral setback in Bihar also failed BJP to learn any lesson whatsoever. As far politics of appeasement is concerned the fact remains that the Muslims are the worst sufferers of the policies and practices of discrimination. They are already living the low quality of life thanks to the denial of the due share in cake of development and with the false propaganda of appeasement further rough shod is ridden over the already losers. However notwithstanding the projection of the tolerant society by the present political dispensation the fact remains that there remains a serious threat to the secular and liberal values embodying the freedom of expression. Commenting on the threat to the freedom of expression the veteran actress shobana Azmi rightly said that any controversy in the opinion has the potential to turn it into the law & order problem and there is nothing to deter the incendiary statements. Mr. Rajnath Singh instead of dispassionately examining the issue of rising intolerance and addressing it has made a foray in to whether the word secularism is drawn into the preamble of the constitution justifiably or not.

The Morning-After Pill causes thrombosis
Edward Korman, judge of the Eastern District of New York, has decided that the morning-after pill (MAP) shall be delivered without a prescription to women of all ages in the United States. This court decision forces the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to provide, without any restriction, the morning after pill (MAP) and other so-called emergency contraceptives to be sold in North America. "To summon the side effects of the pill for girls under 11 years is just an excuse to deprive the vast majority of women of their right to obtain abortives without undue restrictions," said Korman in its judgment. For my part, I answer the judge that no one has any right to kill an innocent, weak and helpless human being. Would the Judge Korman have accepted, that when his mother was pregnant, she had ingested the morning- after pill? When conceived, he was a human being, different to his mother, they were two different people. This instruction cancels the ban on selling the morning after pill (MAP) without prescription to women under 16. The verdict of Judge Korman had the backing of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. This decision aims to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies in the United States, which stands at 49% according to an investigation by the Guttmacher Institute. Would not it be more advisable to provide adequate sex education to adolescents? At the same time, the European Medicines Agency, at the request of the French authorities, is conducting a study of birth control pills. For some time these pills are known to have harmful effects. This reality has jumped to the public after complaints exhibited in France for over thirty women who have had cerebrovascular problems, pulmonary embolism or thrombosis. More than 25 epidemiological investigations have explored the risk of venous thromboembolism in adolescents who ingest the pill. Now has sounded the alarm over the lack of information and automatic prescription of these pills by physicians. Marie-Pierre Martinet, Secretary General of "Le Planning Familial", declares to "Le Monde" that "the updating of our knowledge comes from laboratories, which have powerful marketing arguments against messages from health authorities, who always fail to be heard". The anticonceptive pill is the most used contraceptive method in France: 555% of women between 15 and 49 years consume it. Serious incidents with these pills have caused great alarm among consumers. Following an information from "Le Figaro", the authorities have indicated that in the last 25 years they have recognized four cases of death due to venous thrombosis caused by the pill and 125 cases of "unintended effects of the drug" (Source: Aceprensa)

Govt is also requsted to initiate lie detector test upon declared Scamsters/corrupt persons so to recover govt dues, so to bring transparency in the administration, , Investigating agencies should not be asked to obtain permission if to prosecute Politicians, Bureaucrats. This is against principles of democracy. Govt runs for the/by the /of the people

Unform Civil Code
I have read "Uniform Civil Code" (MG, 1-15 December, 2015) with interest and rapt attention. Dr Kidwai has timely written this article. Arguments are legally valid and constitutionally sound. I hope this article would amply provide insight to many readers regarding unjust and communal demand to interfere in the religious and cultural practices of Indian Muslims. May I add one thing here. Article 38(2) of constitution under the Directive Principles Of State Policy mandates to strive to minimise the inequalities in income and and to eliminate inequalities in status, facilities and opportunities, not amongst individuals but also amongst groups of people residing in different areas or engaged in different vocations. Similarly Article 39(b) provides that the ownership and control of the material resources of the community are so distributed as best to sub-serve the common good. This is the high time for Parliament to enact laws to meet these imperatives rather to meet communal demands.

It's a very big fraud to claim that Ramjanmbhoomi is the place where a makeshift temple is erected by demolishing Babri Masjid. Though structural remains of that demolished Masjid suggests it otherwise but basically it's a land dispute which is to b settled as per law. Everyone needs to honour our legal procedure & as case is listed in SC every law abiding Indian must wait for verdict of the apex court. There r innumerable Ram temples in Ayodhya & some of these temples r in very bad stage , so these Rambhakts s'd devote their energy in repairs of those temples instead of creating rehotrics that other community is not allowing them to build Bhavya Ram Mandir in Ayodhya , they r free to build one or 10 Ram Temples on other land or rebuild already depleted Ram Temples & stop befooling general public in the name of religion & must avoid in committing more sins by deceiving ppl through spreading disinformation Lord Ram said ," mohi kapat chhil chhidra in bhava, nirmal man jo so mohi pava" meaning -I don't like deceit, betrayal , I like those who r pure in their action. I appeal to Rambhakts to adopt what Lord Ram said himself & desist from falling prey to mischievous propaganda of VHP/ RSS whose sole objective is to misuse name of Ramlala for political purpose

Terrorism by Muslims
A tiny little percentage of Muslims who are from the extreme, radical and violent wing of Islamic Fundamentalism, and who may be religious ( but misplaced ) and anti-Western may wrongly concentrate on passages or verses dealing with conflict, war, and resistance to oppression. Many conclude that the Qur'an expects them to engage in acts of terrorism, assassinations, suicide bombings, armed aggression against military aggression by other nations, military interventions by other nations and against persons of other religions and executing innocent persons, etc. 99.99999 per cent of other common main stream Muslims are not extremists, not violent and not radical, and those Muslims may concentrate on passages and themes of spirituality, justice, personal struggle, peace, freedom, co-existence etc. They are consulting the same teachings, the same Qur’an , with a different emphasis, and achieve very different results. We see the same split among Christians as they study Islam and the Qur'an. Some emphasize the earlier passages in the Qur'an which emphasize cooperation with the Jews and Christians -- the "People of the Book." They tend to interpret "Jihad" in terms of personal struggle towards purity. Others emphasize later passages of the Qur'an which were received during a time of conflict. They tend to interpret "Jihad" as holy war. They come to opposite conclusions about whether Islam is a religion of peace or religion of constant violent Jihad.
What do natural calamities convey?
Man must never forget to pray.
What is the message of an earthquake?
Man must remain spiritually awakes.
Never allow satan to enter our blood.
What is signalled by a wind storm?
Mind & body must remain in their natural form.
When and why does a volcano erupt?
When the majority of mankind becomes corrupt.

ISIS is NISIS
Do we realise that the entire world, the world media and we the Muslims all over the world are unwittingly and inadvertently tarnishing the good image of Islam by referring to the Daesh - the extremists and butchers of Syria and Iraq - as members of ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) or ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and Levant). These radically sick murderers cannot be part of any Islamic state - as a matter of fact they cannot be Muslims either. They should, therefore, be called members of NISIS (Non Islamic State of Iraq & Syria). A worldwide campaign or rather anti-campaign to rename ISIS as NISIS should be promoted and shared by the moderates of all religions and ordinary Muslims and their friends all over the world to show our rejection, denial and refusal of the extremist methodology of these radically sick people hiding behind Islam, and equally to show solidarity with all the innocent victims of their horrendous criminal attacks and atrocities anywhere throughout the globe. The respected Media all over the world is requested to please STOP referring to them as ISIS. From today lets all call them "NISIS" - Non- Islamic State of Iraq & Syria. Every time someone refers to them as ISIS or ISIL, the word "Islam" automatically pops out in the subconscious mind. And its repetition - however imperceptible it might be - does leave an indelible mark and impression on one's mind. Over a period it gets embossed there and the good name of Islam - the religion of peace - is gradually and unknowingly tarnished beyond repair. So from here onwards it is the NISIS and not the ISIS. Please DO spread the word around.
Col. Riaz Jafri (retd), Rawalpindi 46000
It is not fruitful for Muslim organizations to make the claim that ISIS does not exist in India. Instead they should redouble their efforts to make sure that such an evil ideology does not take hold in our soil as it has done in scores of other countries. We need to repudiate and condemn the enticing elements of the ISIS ideology, and we need to do it loudly and frequently. We must reject and denounce the very concept of the Caliphate, preferring instead democratically elected secular governments and separation of religion from state. We must also reject as trash all Hadith-based fantasies of the return of the Mahdi, and the coming of the "end times" or the "last days". And we must never forget God's First Commandment to Moses: "Thou shalt not kill!" Let us not be caught off guard! While the advent of ISIS can be harmful to India, it would do a lot more harm to Indian Muslims.

"AIMMM expresses its moral support to Turkey which shot down a Russian military plane which violated its airspace despite repeated warnings before the plane was shot down and also on earlier occasions of violation of the Turkish airspace by Russian war-planes. AIMMM asks Russia to stop its vitriol against Turkey which acted within its legal rights to protect its airspace like any sovereign state in the world." How can Muslims extend their "moral support" to Turkey Govt. which shot down a Russian military plane recently? Allah (swt) categorically states in Noble Qur'an, vide Surah Al-Maida: “Believers! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for your allies. They are the allies of each other. And among you he who takes them for allies, shall be regarded as one of them. Allah does not guide the wrong-doers;” “Indeed you see those afflicted with the disease of hypocrisy race towards them, saying: 'We fear lest some misfortune overtakes us. And it may happen that Allah will either bring you a decisive victory or bring about something else from Himself? and then they will feel remorseful at their hypocrisy which they have kept concealed in their breasts.”
Turkey is a member state of NATO and should be regarded as a member of the Judo-Christian Alliance. It is abetting this JCA since very long and no doubt, is acting on their behest. It is also supporting Daesh in their fight against Muslims. You might be aware, who has created Daesh and why. It is my opinion that we Muslims should not support Turkey Govt, morally or otherwise as Mr. Erdogan is a hypocrite moron without any principle and he & his family is involved in DAESH (ISIS) illegal oil trade, earning more than 3 million dollars on daily basis. Also he is exposing innocent Muslim Citizens of his state, to all sort of hardships, loss of life, for his personal gains. Now this JCA is blaming Turkey tactfully, indicating that they do not desire to support Turkey, a NATO Member. Ultimately innocent Muslims will suffer & be killed.
How foolish it is to increase exhibition of female body charm and to expect decrease in sex crimes? Are not the socalled intellectuals eating grass?!
