Islam brought about a complete revolution, unparalleled in the human history. That all human beings are equal, irrespective of their religion, race, class and colour, was a unique contribution of Islam. Likewise Islam brought about the high human ideals of tolerance, justice, peace and love of human beings. Now there is a worldwide propaganda that Islam is the most intolerant religion in the world. The learned author, Dr. Shaikh Mohammad Iqbal, attempts in this book to prove that the fact is otherwise. The book, comprising of 9 chapters examines the position of non-Muslims under various Muslim governments, beginning from the Prophet’s era to the Mughal Empire of the Indian subcontinent. In the first chapter, the author explains the basic tenets and ideals of Islam and in the epilogue he explained, while citing many quotations from orientalists, the many ways in which Islam was a boon to humanity. Rendering of the book as well as its get-up is good but it lacks proper referencing.
